At Studio Trio we offer an immersive Interior Design service that will transform your home into the most exquisite of spaces. This is a complete process that considers everything you need and exciting details that will enhance your home and lifestyle, which includes developing CAD drawings to overseeing installation. Interior Design Process
01 Design Consultation
All initial consultations are conducted in person, up to 1.5 hours at your residence or within our studio. At this session Principal, Lauren Mahoney will engage with all aspects of your requirements developing a deep understanding of your unique needs, aspiration and aesthetic vision. From here, Directors Steven and Lauren will tailor a proposal designed to meet your specific scope of work.
02 Style Guide
We commence the interior design journey by crafting a detailed style guide that brings the unique vision for your home to life. Through a curated selection of imagery and ideas, we will delve into each space, demonstrating how our design choices will enhance your home whilst considering your lifestyle and deliver to a desired and luxurious aesthetic.
Our Style Guide can only be developed in conjunction with Hard Finishes and CAD Documentation.
03 Hard Finishes
Once your definitive style is established, we will then take detailed measurements of your home so we can start specifying your hard finishes selections, known as your FF&E Schedule (Fixture, Fittings and Equipment). This includes all internal and external selections including tiles, flooring, tapware, door hardware, architectural lighting, joinery profiles, wall colours, appliances, pool tiles and fencing and so much more.
04 CAD Documentation
With the style guide, measurements and bespoke FF&E schedule in-hand we then schedule our meetings together to delve into the nuanced layout of your home. From here, we develop CAD drawings of every floor and each room providing elevations that specify all interior features in exact detail, including a full and comprehensive electrical overlay. For those looking for these plans to be imagined further we also offer a 3D rendering service to visualise your new home.
05 Interior Decorating
During this stage we meticulously tailor all interior decorating selections providing advice on furniture, soft furnishings, window treatments, decorative lighting, artwork, accessories, rugs and all styling details. These selections are presented in a mood board acting as inspiration for each room and help further realise your home’s unique vision.
06 Tendering and Quoting
Based on all selections, we tender out requirements, reaching out to our extensive network of craftsmen and artisans for their input. Our close collaboration with skilled builders, joiners and craftsmen ensuring precise quote offering transparency and confidence. We additionally source the most luxurious of materials and pieces from Australia and across the world to provide our clients with exquisite and unique items that gives each home its distinctive feel and present all options for consideration and approval.
07 Project Management
At Studio Trio, we seamlessly manage the customisation, sourcing, installation and fit-out of the interior details of your home. We personally oversee all of our craftsmen and artisans throughout the process and keep you updated on the timeline for each stage of the project with one point of contact through to completion. This is a thorough and professional project management service that will see your home transformed to perfection.
Interior Decorating Process
01 Design Consultation
An initial one-on-one consultation will be held at our studio where Principal, Lauren Mahoney will deep dive into your desired aesthetic and look to understand your unique needs. From here Lauren will create an inspiring mood board designed around your aspiration and aesthetic vision for presentation.
02 Interior Decorating
During this stage we curate interior decorating selections providing expert advice on furniture, soft furnishings, window treatments, decorative lighting, artwork, accessories, rugs and all styling details. These selections are presented in an updated mood board that adds a layer of sophistication as we start to realise your home’s vision.
03 Tendering and Quoting
Based on the thoughtfully curated selections, we extend the project to our network of skilled craftsmen and artisans. Our tendering process in collaboration with our esteemed experts ensures precise quoting and delivery of high-end luxurious pieces. We will also source the most exquisite pieces from Australia and across the world to give your home its own distinctive feel, providing options for your consideration and approval.
04 Project Management

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need CAD drawings?
Yes. The CAD drawings are a part of our bespoke interior design service and ensure the precision of details and the quality of the final outcome. Hard finishes cannot be finalised without these. The Style Guide, Hard Finishes (FF&E schedule) and CAD drawings are all included within our Interior Design service.
How long does the Interior Design process take?
Timing will depend on your circumstances but below provides a guide:
Initial Consultation:
We generally book initially consultations within 2 weeks from the first phone call. Following this, we will then turn your initial proposal around within 1 – 2 weeks.
New Home Design to Drawings:
For a whole new home allow up to 4 – 9 months to design, develop the full FF&E schedule and draw all required CAD drawings.
Renovation Design to Drawings:
Depending on the scope of your renovation, will take approximately 3 – 6 months to develop design, full FF&E schedule and draw all required CAD drawings.
How long does the Interior Decorating process take?
From initial design briefing to quote is approximately 6 weeks.
Fit-outs, thereafter, can take anywhere from 3 - 6 months as we source and import pieces from overseas.
Allow approximately 3 months for curtain and window treatments.
Can I purchase decorating items myself?
Unfortunately, not. The purpose of engaging Studio Trio is to leverage from our expertise and create the style you had always envisaged. We don’t compromise on any aspect when creating this for you and provide a full interior design service from concept to completion. This ensures we deliver to our high standards a luxurious home with an exquisite aesthetic.
Do you work for interstate clients?
Yes. We work for clients all over Australia and have an established network of craftsmen, artisans and international suppliers who will provide all required services to all areas.
Who should I engage first, a builder or Interior Designer?
More often or not, clients engage an Interior Designer first as they have ideas about what they want for their home but not sure where to start. The benefit of engaging us first, is we can help define your vision and identify the things within your new home or renovation that will enhance its functionally and truly feel connected to your style, aesthetic and how you live.
We also have a team of preferred architects, builders and tradesmen we work closely with and can recommend or engage on your behalf.
Can I get a high level estimate?
All our projects are tailored to suit your needs, scope and an idea of budget. It is best we meet face to face to discuss and talk through the process and then design a package that considers all these factors so we can provide you with a detailed proposal.
